Dr Seema Arya graduated from Lady Hardinge Medical College in 1985. She was bestowed with first prize in Medicine. She completed her residency and postgraduation in Paediatrics from the prestigious Kalwati Saran Children Hospital, New Delhi in 1989.

She then joined Central Health Services in the Department of health in Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India. During her tenure she acquired post-graduation in Hospital Administration and was awarded WHO Fellowship in Adolescent Health to Kohn Kain University Bangkok, Thailand. She also took training in non-communicable chronic diseases and related problems through workshops held at AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital New Delhi.

Dr Arya obtained Certification in Sleep medicine including training by well-known Sleep Technologist -Glenn Roldan, Clinical Director at Neuro Sleep Centre Philippines. She further gained experience through a sleep training workshop in association of Sleep Centre of University of New South Wales Sydney Australia - a five-day Sleep course. She has been invited to visit the manufacturing and research and training premises of ResMed Australia, a state-of-the-art facility founded by Sir Collin Sullivan, the brain behind the current CPAP devices.

She then qualified as Registered Polysomnographic technologist from Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist in 2020 (BRPT, USA). The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist™ (RPSGT) is an internationally recognized credential representing the highest certification in the field of Sleep Medicine for the health care professionals who clinically assess patients with sleep disorders.

She has pursued further training in Sleep medicine by attending various National, International seminars and workshops in adult and paediatric sleep disorders including the recently conducted workshop at AIIMS, Rishikesh by Department of Sleep Medicine.

She passionately pursues the management of various sleep disorders at ASRA Centre for Sleep, New Delhi. All types of sleep problems for both adults and children are managed including obstructive sleep apnoea hypopnea syndrome, insomnia, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, excessive daytime sleepiness and various nighttime behaviour disorders which interfere with quality sleep.

Dr Seema Arya with her team of associated sleep and respiratory specialist Dr Animesh Arya, Sleep Technologists, and support staff at ASRA Centre for Sleep New Delhi take pride in providing utmost care to such patient with meticulous testing and a three-level reporting while carrying out all levels of sleep studies/Polysomnography (PSG) procedures.

This includes the gold standard, American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) & Indian Sleep Disorders Association (ISDA) certified level 1 full in-lab Polysomnography on advanced Embletta MPR PG -ST-Proxy polysomnographic equipment.

Home Sleep Apnoea Test (HSAT)/ Level 3 Polysomnography is carried out by ResMed apnoea Link & Phillips Alice Night One diagnostic equipment.

Following the diagnostic sleep study, patients suffering from sleep disorders are offered PAP titration with advanced TX link system in Split night study/ exclusive PAP titration protocols.

At ASRA Centre for Sleep we also offer facilities for daytime NAP PAP test for patients having difficulty in using the PAP device and those who would like to revalidate the PAP pressures. PAP experience enables the patients to choose the most comfortable and best fit mask/interface from an array of different masks available at present times.

Patients undergoing PAP therapy with instruments provided through our centre are connected to the specialists and doctors through an intense monitoring programme by a remote capture sim card in the devices. This exclusive service is offered to select number of patients who choose to acquire various PAP devices through our centre. This creates a strong bonding and camaraderie between the patients, technical staff, and the doctors.

This has really paved the way for better outcomes and helped to develop confidence among our patients eventually leading to better compliance to therapy and positive results for such people. In fact, the data on record with the centre supports this and more than 90% patients are compliant at the end of one year and beyond.

This outcome has been shared in a scientific article about impact of continuous and monitored treatment of OSAHS in blood pressure control and reduction in dosed of anti-hypertensives.
