Dr Animesh Arya is a graduate of Maulana Azad Medical College, pursued his post-graduation in the field of Chest Medicine and Tuberculosis from the prestigious Vallabh Bhai Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi, Delhi.

Following his post-graduation, he volunteered to provide his services to the tuberculosis patients by joining the famous and oldest Tuberculosis Centre in Delhi - New Delhi Tuberculosis Centre under the dynamic leadership of Late Professor MM Singh. Having served there for about a year he moved to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital as Class I Gazetted Officer in the capacity of Medical Officer in the Dept of Medicine & Respiratory Diseases.

In a tenure of 5 years, he was instrumental in upgrading and setting up of Pulmonary Function Laboratory, Bronchoscopy, Ultrasound for chest diseases and presented his paper at the ICS conference in Mumbai. His work was also accepted at the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) conference in USA in the year 1991. Having served with the Govt of India with Min of Health and Family Welfare for over five years he moved to his own self practice in 1993.

Dr Animesh Arya is a true professional enhancing the scope and practice of Respiratory Medicine ever since 1986 and now has over 37 years of vast experience. He has moved with times to adopt innovative methods in serving the people with new technology and ever improving respiratory care.

He has served in the capacity of Sr. Consultant in the Dept of Respiratory Medicine at Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, Mata Chanan Devi Hospital, Max Hospital, Pitampura and is presently Head of Dept of Respiratory Medicine at Sri Balaji Medical Institute, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi. Dr Arya is also providing Interventional Pulmonology services at Action Cancer Hospital.

He is a pioneer in non-invasive ventilation in Delhi popularly known as BiPAP therapy for patients of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). He was amongst the very few to start it as early as 1995 in Maharaja Agrasen hospital and Jaipur Golden Hospital, New Delhi. He is a member of the National Committee on setting guidelines for Non-invasive Ventilation in Chronic Respiratory conditions in home settings.

To serve the cause of tuberculosis patients he volunteered his services through the international programme, Deepalaya plan programme for over five years.

Dr. Arya is caring compassionate and continues to hold service to his patients in highest esteem constantly striving to provide best of care for improving outcomes. He and his team at the Centre for Chest Diseases, Allergy and Sleep Disorders in West Delhi has strived hard to achieve this.

He is also pioneer in setting up and specially looking after severe asthma patients utilising the monoclonal antibodies treatment for his patients.

He is constantly upgrading his knowledge and has a penchant of teaching and is a part of DNB programme at the Action Balaji Hospital New Delhi.

He has delivered numerous lectures both in India and abroad and holds Executive posts in various National societies.

He is a member of Asia Pacific Allergy forum, Fellow of Indian Academy of Clinical Medicine, Member of Telemedicine Society of India, Member of Indian Sleep Disorders Association

ASRA Centre for Chest Diseases is equipped with state-of-the-art pulmonary function testing equipment- Hipair complete PFT system. Ganshorn Spirometry system, MIR Spirometry & 6-minute walk testing equipment. Centre boasts of possessing one of the few Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide systems (FENO). Latest acquisition is state of the art Impulse Oscillometry-Airway resistance & conductance measuring equipment for small children, severe COPD patients, ILD patients who are unable to perform routine spirometry.

He is assisting Dr Seema Arya at ASRA Centre for Sleep in management of patients with sleep disorders. ASRA Centre for Sleep is equipped with three advanced Sleep Diagnostic apparatus and titrating devices - advanced Embletta MPR PG -ST-Proxy polysomnographic equipment withTX link system for titration studies, ResMed Apnoea Link & Phillips Alice Night One for Home Sleep Apnoea Studies.
